Dirty and Thirty

Is it thirty & flirty or dirty thirty? Either way, I was dreading turning the big 3-0!  Something about leaving my twenties and entering this new decade just seemed to daunt me. For the first time ever, I dreaded a birthday. I know thirty is still considered young, but considering the twenties were quite remarkable for me, I wasn’t ready to leave them just yet. I began to question if I could still be “young & dumb” and when do you officially leave that stage? After talking to a few others, I realized that until I have kids, I can still be “young & dumb” (I plan to relish in that for as long as we can!)

Cory planned a week of surprises and made feeling me like turning 30 wasn’t going to be so bad after all.

The first surprise: A Surprise,  Great Gatsby themed party! I had an inkling of a party, but didn’t know the details. He left no detail out and I felt so loved by those who came to celebrate with me!

Thank you to Classic Cakes for the wonderful cake!

The beads and little details were perfect!

I love this photo of Cory waiting in anticipation of my arrival!

P.S. Cory had this dress from BCBG waiting for me when I arrived! He has great taste! I loved the dress and it was perfect for the theme!

Cory also bought a polaroid camera to take candids of the night!

The second surprise: Our friends Nic & Lindsay flew from Oklahoma to stay with us

and met us at the Oxford Exchange (my favorite place in Tampa)

The third surprise: Cory hired a private chef to come to our rental home and cooked us a four course meal!

I still don’t like the idea of getting older and aging. But I know its inevitable and we all have to do it. Here is to making 30’s the best yet!

Thanks love for loving me and for the week long surprises and celebration! I love you!-J
